The Trawlermen, headed up by Dara Stewart and Justin Wilman, offer a fresh perspective on folk music. The band, known for its collaborative ethos, features a rotation of talented frontmen, each bringing their own distinct style. By blending folk with other contemporary genres, they create a sound that's fresh, innovative and vibrant.

The Trawlermen's unique talents and style reflect in their performances, captivating audiences from the decks of cruise ships to diverse international stages. Their music isn't just heard; it's felt, bridging different worlds and bringing people together. Redefining how folk music can be experienced, and making each show a memorable journey.

THE BAND

Justin Wilman

Violin - Whistle - Vocals

Justin, originally from South Africa, comes from a musical lineage. His career began in the Royal Marines Band Service as the principal violinist and soloist. After a fruitful five-year tenure, he transitioned to Cirque du Soleil in Macau. Over the last 15 years, he has built an impressive performance and recording portfolio. His collaborations span a wide array of notable names including RAYE, The Heritage Orchestra, Universal Music, Pete Tong and The Cinematic Orchestra, to name a few. 

Dara Stewart

Double Bass - Kick Drum - Percussion - Vocals

Born in Edinburgh, Dara's roots lie deep in a musical family. A graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he has been touring stages worldwide for the past 15 years. His expertise extends beyond being an instrumentalist; Dara is also highly sought after as a Musical Director, Arranger, Copyist, and Sound Designer through his Music Production studio in Brixton, London. His versatile talents have led him to perform with an array of artists and organizations, including BBC Scotland, Nimbus Alliance Records, PARMA Records, QUDOS, HQ Theatres, and Raymond Gubbay LTD.

Tony McHugh

Lead Vocals - Guitar

Born in Belfast, Tony is a celebrated guitarist, songwriter, musical director, arranger, and producer, acclaimed for his versatile and dynamic musicianship. His touring history is impressive, having taken him from Florida to Mumbai and many places in between. Tony has performed alongside notable artists such as KT Tunstall, Newton Faulkner, Villagers, and Frightened Rabbit. As a singer-songwriter, he has achieved international acclaim, with his talents earning high praise from renowned musician Ed Sheeran. In a testament to his skill, George Lowden, the craftsman behind both Tony and Ed's guitars, recounted how Ed “replied immediately” with enthusiasm for Tony’s debut single, expressing that he “looooves” it.

Colin Andrew

Lead Vocals - Guitar

Colin Andrew, a native of Kerry, has refined his dynamic style through live performances, international residencies, and TV appearances. His roots in indie, folk, and traditional Irish music shape his distinct sound. With over a decade of live performance experience, Colin has earned a reputation as a prolific songwriter and respected artist. Notably, he spent two years in residency at Raglan Road, Disney World, and made his live TV debut on 'Ceiliúradh na Féile Pádraig' alongside The High Kings and Daniel O'Donnell. His achievements also include national radio play on Radio Kerry, RedFM, and KCLR.

Cameron Ross

Violin - Vocals

Cameron Ross, from Stonehaven in North East Scotland, is a multi-award-winning musician with numerous national titles. A finalist in both the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician and BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards, he is recognized as one of Scotland’s finest folk musicians. Cameron studied at the North East of Scotland School of Music, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and East Tennessee State University, where he developed a taste for country music and bluegrass. His performances have been featured in movies and TV programs like Outlander and Trainspotting 2. Additionally, he has performed for Queen Elizabeth II, with The Waterboys, and was a featured performer for the Walt Disney Company.

Jack Kenney

DOUBLE BASS - KICK DRUM - PERCUSSION - VOCALS

Jack, born in Leicestershire, began his musical journey as a cellist before picking up the bass guitar in his teens. After studying musicology and both instruments at The University of Huddersfield, he naturally progressed to the double bass. Since graduating, Jack has performed worldwide, including supporting various artists at sea. He also fronted the iconic ballroom orchestra on Cunard Line for several years. Recently, he relocated to Amsterdam, where he is actively exploring the music scene and collaborating with various artists and projects.

Sandy Grigelis

Lead Vocals - Guitar

Sandy, a graduate of the London School of Musical Theatre, is a multifaceted artist: an actor, singer/songwriter, host, and skilled musician. His impressive career includes performances at prestigious events such as the Monaco Grand Prix, where he performed for Prince Albert, the Monarch of Monaco, along with appearances at major UK and international festivals including Wembley Arena. Sandy also gained recognition as a judge, working alongside Geri Halliwell/Horner on the BBC1 show "All Together Now."

Sandy also showcases his talents internationally as a solo artist in his own show, “Rock N Roller”.
